Hurricane Relief Update

May we first thank you all for your collective support with the ongoing work in BSL. Eleven months later we can all look back and simply conclude, "IT IS THE LORD"
As most of you know by now we are in the process of moving the operation from the ball field to the new location. The most current pictures of the new property are now posted on the CCR site.
We wanted to take this time to answer some of your questions and to give you the details what the future holds for this work.
First
We are going to have a dinner banquet at the new location on Wed. night August 23rd. This will be a night were we will look back together on what God has done. We are inviting BSL city officials, residents and the many volunteers from around the country that have participated in this work. We need people to serve at this banquet and we need some worship bands as well.
We are asking all the key leaders and senior pastors that are unable to attend to try and make a short video addressing the BSL community and send it to CCLH by the end of next week.
If you are interested in going please contact Keri or Tony at CCLH ASAP.
Secondly
In order to finish well we need to:
- Finish clean up on the ball field.
- Complete some finishing touches on the new property.
- Prep work for the banquet on Wednesday August 23rd.
- Schedule drivers to drive back several vehicles to California.
We believe we can accomplish this with around 15 -20 more people per week for the next 4 weeks.
The dates for laborers
(Aug 1-8) (Aug 7-14) (Aug 14-21) (Aug 22-24 - Banquet help)
The dates for drivers
Aug 21 - 27
Thirdly
We have 25-35 residents showing up to the church services. We are no longer serving them physical food, only the more important Word of God. Many of you have asked who is going to shepherd this flock. Well, we have prayed for quite some time about this and it looks like God has placed a burden on the heart of Frank Griffin from Baton Rouge. Frank and his wife Teri have been driving out over the last few Sundays and have recently stated that they feel a calling and are willing to take a step of faith and make the drive until God says otherwise.
Fourthly
We believe God has organized a relief ministry through this endeavor. We are bringing a number of the vehicles and trailers back to California to prepare for the next disaster God leads us to. We are currently looking for a place that we can store all of the equipment for future use.
Most of this information will be posted on the CCR web site by days end tomorrow. If you have any questions please feel free to call Tony Leach or Keri Whitley at the CCLH office. Once again time is short so all prompt responses are deeply appreciated.
Blessings,
Calvary Chapel Relief Team
